Job Description:


  • Primary lead to manage the new leasing and revenue standard implementation process.
  • Prepare the impairment process for each fund quarterly (real estate, equity investments, etc), including the use of ARGUS to perform various sensitivity analyses, if necessary
  • Complete the Variable Interest Entity (VIE) analysis for each fund quarterly
  • Monitor effectiveness of ongoing and new derivatives, liaise with the Treasury team prior to the execution of derivatives, and determine the accounting implications of various derivative instruments.
  • Review and evaluate complex transactions to determine the appropriate accounting
  • Liaise with investment officers and asset managers to understand business rationale for transactions
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards
  • Provide ongoing support to the financial close and reporting teams to help understand complex accounting issues
  • Proactively analyze emerging accounting pronouncements for policy/financial statement disclosure implications
  • Assist with the training and development of accounting group on accounting technical matters and new accounting pronouncements
  • Assist with special projects as needed
  • Write technical memorandums on various accounting issues as they arise
  • Interact with third party service providers and external auditors


Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Experience in a complex accounting environment
  • Big 4 experience in audit or advisory practice a plus
  • Experience in real estate accounting ideal but not required
  • BS/BA in Accounting and CPA
  • Detail-oriented and strong organization skills
  • Excellent communication and managerial skills
  • Problem solver with excellent research and analytical skills
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of dealing with complex accounting principles, including leasing, consolidations, business combinations, stock-based compensation, financial instruments and foreign currency transactions
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with senior accounting and finance management in a team environment 
  • Experience: 6-8 years
