Review and analyze third party financial statements by third party managers; and journalize to Company books and records.
Reconcile between third-party domestic financial statements and Company’s books and records. Review variance analysis provided by third party providers.
Perform accounting close on a monthly basis.
Record monthly accruals.
Prepare state sales tax return
Perform monthly cash/escrow account reconciliations
Analyze intercompany and related-party transactions, perform supporting reconciliations, and book complex intercompany journal entries.
Perform balance sheet and income statement variance commentary.
Reconcile bank accounts, escrow accounts, tenant receivables and other balance sheet accounts
Requirements / Qualifications:
Review annual reconciliations of actual pass through expenses vs. estimated charges
Assist in preparing supporting schedules for internal and external auditors and responding to audit inquiries
Create and manage ad hoc reporting requests from Closing/Accounting group, Asset Management, Treasury dept.
Coordinate with third-party domestic financial statement providers, asset managers
3-5+ years of relevant experience in a dynamic environment: must have experience in Property Accounting and Lease Administration (for a public REIT a plus)
BS/BA in Accounting
Strong knowledge of accounting principles in at least one of the following areas: lease accounting, real estate accounting
Excellent analytical, problem solving and organization skills
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work well in a team setting
